In science we continued to test out controlled experiments by changing only the variable of string length. Ask your child if this variable changed the results of the experiment.
Math's focus continued to be on place value and shifting place values by powers of ten. Today exponent forms of 10 were introduced and we will continue with these tomorrow.
Latin Roots man/manu and ped were reviewed in an "I have, Who has" game. Please look back into older posts for the flashcard matching online activity.
In writing we continued to flash draft. Today's topic was a place, followed by very specific short moments that have happened at that place. Tomorrow we will look at "exploding moments" and amping up the detail in our narrative drafts.
To round out the day, we continued to read Wonder, analyze the character of August in a FAST character map. We then entered our book clubs for the first time and received our first assignment.
