Sorry for the late post!

This morning, students knew the exact morning routine that needed to be followed.  In morning meeting we looked at three character traits of successful students: Self-Control (the most important for 5th graders), Zest, and Optimism.  Groups and pairs did a fantastic job thinking of slogans and 2, 3 and 4 letter definitions.

In science.... we observed our first science experiment... SHHHHHHHH!  Do not tell those little brothers, sisters or younger students in the building- its surprise for when they are in 5th grade!!!

Today in math we took our first learning objective quiz to see what we will be learning in math this year.  It was meant to be challenging- everything will be learned throughout this year!  We always switched math classes for a quick tutorial of what to expect when we switch for real tomorrow.

In the afternoon we wrote our first mini-essay about gift giving and recieving.  This will help me to see what type of narrative writers we have in our class and it will give students something to compare their final published essay against.  Growth is key!

To end the day, we switched RELA classes to set expectations and get to know each other.
