In science we observed our polluted eco-columns and compared them to our predictions.
Math... MATH!!! Wooo! Finally we will get some solid math lessons in now that our week of jam packing in Titanic research is over (more on that later)! Today we discussed ratios and their connection to fractions.
All afternoon we focused on Titanic and the debate that would be coming at 2:30 in front of the entire fifth grade. Students got with their teams, thought of some defenses for their side (captain and crew OR shipbuilders) and then prioritized their faulty points. We then went down to the cafe/auditorium. Each side did a great job of presenting their facts and accusing the opposing viewpoint. Elborations were direct and passion was shown! After a full hour of debate, the jury was split on whose fault it had been... Tomorrow we will find out based on the results from Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Bigenho's classes. SUPERB job to all! Your research payed off massively.
